In the summer of 1964, the bodies of three civil rights workers, James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner, are discovered buried in a dam in Mississippi. FBI agent Pete Medgar is assigned to investigate the disappearance and murder of these three young men, two of whom are white and one who is black.
