The movie revolves around Dr. Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson), a primatologist who works at the San Diego Genie Research Center. Davis has a close bond with his genetically enhanced western lowland gorilla, George. However, when a strange serum is administered to George, the gorilla becomes aggressive and starts to wreak havoc on the city.
