The movie takes place eight years after the events of "The Dark Knight." Batman has been in exile, and Gotham City has been plagued by crime and corruption. The introduction of Bane, a ruthless and cunning villain, sets off a chain of events that pushes Batman to his limits. Bane kidnaps Commissioner James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and begins to wreak havoc on Gotham City. Batman must team up with Selina Kyle, a cat burglar, to stop Bane and save Gotham City.
