The film is set in modern-day Earth and follows the story of Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), a teenager who buys his first car, which turns out to be the Autobot Bumblebee. As the Transformers begin to re-emerge on Earth, Sam becomes involved in the conflict between the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the Decepticons, led by Megatron.
