The story takes place 20 years after the events of the first film. Diego de la Vega (Antonio Banderas) is now married to Elena (Catherine Zeta-Jones), but his life as Zorro is a thing of the past. However, when a new villain emerges, Diego must once again don the mask and become Zorro to save his loved ones and the people of California.
